The iDNA Cardio Health kit is an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) product, which evaluates through the use of interpretive software the genetic analysis, from a buccal swab sample, and in combination with phenotypic characteristics it assigns the individualized risk of developing cardiovascular diseases using the Polygenic Risk Score (PRS) and Adjusted PRS.
It aims at the early prevention of cardiovascular diseases by serving as an advisory guide for the effective management of associated aggravating factors.

It provides genetic information, which is potentially a useful tool for healthcare professionals to implement personalized preventive medicine.

PRS & Adjusted PRS are provided for the following health conditions:

Coronary Artery Disease

Cardiomyopathy – Dilated

Cardiomyopathy – Hypertrophic

Heart Failure

Arrhythmia - Atrial fibrillation

The iDNA Cardio Health kit is an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical device bearing the CE mark and has been notified to the National Medicines Agency (EOF) Medical Devices Register "Gremdis" (Protocol No. 54882 / 23-05-2022).

The iDNA Cardio Health kit aims at people who belong to one of the 3 categories:

Healthy individuals who want to know if they are at risk of developing any of the conditions examined by the test

Healthy individuals with family history of heart disease (positive history)

Asymptomatic patients who are either under surveillance or undergoing minimally conservative treatment

Early detection, prevention, and individualized intervention are fundamental goals for promoting optimal cardiovascular health. To date, clinical risk prediction is based on demographic characteristics (age, sex, ethnicity), lifestyle (smoking, alcohol consumption, diet, physical activity), health parameters (body mass index, blood pressure, blood tests) and family history. The Polygenic Risk Score (PRS) is a novel genetic profile analysis tool that estimates the probabilistic susceptibility (predisposition) to several cardiovascular diseases, from a single and simple buccal sample. In addition, the Adjusted PRS is a unique and innovative method that combines the PRS with the current lifestyle and phenotype characteristics to provide the ability to dynamically monitor your risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
