Our lab
In our laboratory (iDNA Laboratories), we use clinically relevant molecular and genetic findings and bioinformatics analysis, aiming at their practical application in the context of personalized medical care. In this way we provide access to simplified, affordable and high-quality pharmacogenetics data analysis and advice on clinical interpretation of results. The saliva sample is analyzed by molecular biologists, who screen genotypes of single nucleotide polymorphisms, and then personalized analyses are generated.
Our laboratory has received certification for ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 27001:2013.
How our DNA is turned into a laboratory reference
The epithelial cells of the oral cavity contain the same genomic DNA as the cells circulating in our blood. By collecting a small amount of epithelial cells according to manufacturer instructions, high reliability in sample analysis is ensured. DNA from the epithelial cells found in the saliva sample we receive is extracted and isolated in our certified laboratory. Then, DNA is processed using the most updated and sophisticated laboratory methods and the existing genetic variations in our genome are identified. Our genetic data is analysed using bioinformatics systems and algorithms of state-of-the-art technology and thus personalised reports are created based on standard scientific and medical research.
